Future Move To The Cloud and Aging Infrastructure – Insurance Organization
Project Details
An insurance organization faced a critical need to modernize its IT infrastructure due to aging equipment that no longer met the demands of their business operations. With a strategic vision to migrate all on-premise workloads to the cloud within a three-year timeframe, the organization was hesitant to commit to a large-scale refresh of its existing infrastructure. This hesitation stemmed from the anticipated shift to the cloud, which promised greater scalability and flexibility. The outdated infrastructure posed significant risks, including potential system failures and inefficiencies, which could undermine the migration process and disrupt daily operations.
The solution began with a comprehensive whiteboarding session to discuss the organization’s objectives, timelines, and potential pathways for the transition. This collaborative effort involved exploring different budget scenarios for the cloud spend during the transition period and the eventual complete migration to the cloud. The outcome was the adoption of the APEX solution, which featured a declining price model. This approach allowed the organization to incrementally shift their expenditure from on-premises infrastructure to cloud services, thereby optimizing their budget. By leveraging this model, the insurance organization successfully managed the financial implications of the migration, ensuring a seamless transition to the cloud while maintaining operational stability.
