Business Relaunch – Getting back to work

Shing Digital is an IT services and solutions organization. Although our industry has been deemed an essential service, we are not in the same class nurse or doctors providing life saving care. Our job is to help organizations to continue to operate through these unprecedented times. In the spirit of that, we wanted to give back to the business community by getting good information into the hands of the business leaders that need it.

The virtual town hall was put together to help organizations with information on how to formulate their relaunch strategies. Over the course of this Pandemic, I have been spoken with many of our clients and there was a common thread: many are confused about the multitudes of guidance that is available and many of them did not have a relaunch strategy ready or started.

We have brought together experts on business ethics, infectious diseases, human resources, and myself, CaSh Wong (Shing Digital’s President), to talk about the lessons of this Pandemic and key considerations on formulating your relaunch plan.

The speakers on the virtual town hall are:

CaSh Wong (President/CEO @Shing Digital Inc.)

CaSh founded Shing Digital in 2001 and he has held various advisory, technical, and management roles with a number of organizations in the technology field. CaSh has held the roles of I.S. Manager with desktopsites Inc., CTO with General Wireless, and CTO with Renoback.com. CaSh is currently the President and CEO of Shing Digital Inc. and Mercator Data Center Systems Inc. He is also a director and Vice President of the non-profit group ATAA.

Chris MacDonald (Chair, Department of Law & Business @Ted Rogers School of Management)

Chris MacDonald is an associate professor, writer, speaker and consultant on ethics. MacDonald has been at the Ted Rogers School of Management since Aug. 2012. His expertise in the field of ethics has led him to receive a number of awards over the years, including being named one of the “100 Most Influential People in Business Ethics,” for the past four years by Ethisphere magazine. MacDonald has also been recognized as one of the “Top 100 Thought Leaders in Trustworthy Business Behaviour” by Trust Across America in 2011 and 2012.

Dr. Craig Jenne (Canada Research Chair in Imaging Approaches Towards Studying Infections @ U of C)

Dr. Craig Jenne started his research career as a graduate student at the University of Calgary under the supervision of Dr. John Reynolds. Following his PhD, Dr. Jenne joined an NIH collaboration between the University of California San Francisco and the Australian National University. Upon completion of this post-doctoal position, he had the opportunity return to Calgary to study the role of innate immunity in viral infections. Here Dr. Jenne was exposed to the field of intravital microscopy. Dr. Jenne has developed a number of models to study the innate immune response to viral and highly pathogenic bacterial infections. Dr. Jenne currently holds the roles of Canada Research Chair in Imaging Approaches Towards Studying Infections, Scientific Director of the Snyder Translational Lab in Critical Care Medicine, a faculty appointment within the department of Microbiology, Immunology and Infectious Diseases.

Tony Melnychuk (Director, Labour & Employee Relations)

Experienced Director HR and Corporate Services with a demonstrated history of working in the utilities industry. Skilled in HR Policies, Labour Relations, Leadership, Succession Planning, and Human Resources. Strong business development professional with coaching, mediation and negotiation skills. And most importantly, he loves what he does!!
